Join the Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia Incorporated (DTAA) or upgrade into a higher level of membership. In joining, upgrading or renewing your DTAA membership, you are helping to support and promote the profession of Dance Movement Therapy, which benefits you and the profession.

DTAA registers Dance Movement Therapists at Associate, Provisional Professional and Professional levels, and recognises the work of Registered Dance Movement Therapists as dance movement therapy.

Associate Member

You have graduated from a DTAA-recognised DMT training program within the past year, or are returning to the profession after an extended break and seek to work towards recognition by the DTAA as a Professional Member.

You have completed:
– a minimum of 40 hours of practice experience (leading sessions) with 10 hours of clinical supervision; and
– A plan for further study and practice that will allow you to achieve Provisional Professional membership within 2-3 years.

EITHER:
– You have graduated from a DTAA-recognised DMT training course and have completed:
– a minimum of 250 hours coursework;
– 80 hours of practice experience (leading sessions) with 20 hours of clinical supervision; and
OR:
You have completed an overseas DMT training course and can can prove that you meet all the above requirements.

Clinical DMT Supervisor

You are a Professional member who has worked clinically or academically for a minimum of 5 years post graduation and during that time:
– you have completed a minimum of 500 hours of clinical practice (250+ hours leading sessions or lecturing); and
– 50+ hours of group or individual supervision above the 70 hours required for Professional membership.
The Clinical DMT Supervisor register is reserved for Professional DMTs who are deemed ready to supervise – via an application process – and wish to be included in the register of Clinical DMT supervisors.
