The 2018 symposium is under the auspices of the DTAA (the Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia) and the HEMF (Hanny Exiner Menorial Foundation) in partnership with BMCA (Body Mind Centering® Association), with support from ISMETA (International Somatics Movement Education and Therapy Association) as part of their worldwide 30th Anniversary celebrations.

The Dance Movement Therapy Association of Australasia (DTAA) is the recognised professional body for dance movement therapy in Australasia. It sets the standards for Professional, Provisional Professional and Associate levels of membership, training and supervision. The Hanny Exiner Memorial Foundation, supported by the DTAA and working in collaboration with, aims to provide financial assistance for people undertaking research in the field of dance movement therapy. It also aims to encourage a broader range of research and to increase understanding of dance movement therapy methodology and its effects.

Body Mind Centering® Association (BMCA) is an international, not-for-profit membership organization committed to the practice, education, and ongoing development of Body-Mind Centering with a strong belief in the profound effects of its experiential and collaborative process.

International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association (ISMETA) ensure that training programs uphold high standards of education and practice, as well as maintain a professional registry of graduates. ISMETA’s purpose is to grow the emerging field of Somatic Movement Education and Therapy. ISMETA is committed to building the professional community of Somatic Movement Practitioners worldwide and advocating for the profession in legal and governmental arenas.
