DMT Experience
I have worked in the field of dance movement therapy, dance movement psychotherapy, and somatic psychotherapy for 35 years specialising in an indepth knowledge of the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System and psychodynamic psychoanalytic Self Psychology.
I offer individual or small group supervision for advanced practitioners who are working toward incorporating a psychodynamic approach in their work.
I also offer a two year (with an optional third year) psychotherapy training in Somatic/movement Intersubjective Self Psychology.
Description

My therapeutic work is informed by Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis and the psychodynamic Self Psychology framework which places empathic, affective attunement and responsiveness at the centre of the work.

My supervision approach is three faceted:

1. I observe/listen to my supervisee carefully to ensure that I understand how he/she/they work.

2. With them I explore their movement work and it’s associated psychological meaning and effects through the lens of LBMS, somatics/movement, and Self Psychology.

3. Together we try to understand relational and intersubjective enactments using a psychodynamic Self Psychological framework.
