Viewing: Chia-Yu Chang
Postpartum mother
High-functioning adults who are emotionally distressed
Elderly people with Parkinson's disease
Chia-Yu currently facilitates movement-based sessions for a variety of populations, including parents and young children, postpartum mothers, adults experiencing emotional challenges, and older adults. Her sessions are rooted in a deep respect for the body as a source of wisdom, and are often designed to support embodied awareness, emotional expression, and creative self-discovery.
In her work with parents and children, Chia-Yu integrates principles from the Sherborne Developmental Movement approach, in which she has completed Level 2 training. This supports safe, playful, and relational movement experiences that strengthen early bonding and developmental needs.
With adults and older adults, Chia-Yu draws from her background as a recreational dancer and Balletes instructor, while also incorporating her growing interests in emotional well-being, relationships, embodied awareness, and resilience. She is actively engaged in psychotherapy-related training and applies these insights in both group facilitation and her dance therapy practice.
Chia-Yu has completed the TWNZ Dance Therapy Training Program, and continues to deepen her learning across somatic and psychological disciplines. She believes that through mindful movement, people can rediscover their inner rhythm, heal, and find new ways to relate to life.
